some insights about my motorcycle gear

do you wanna know about my favourite equipment ?
i am not dogmatic – i can change my mind over the time, just let me known in the comments your own experience and recommandations.

my motorcycle

Anjali

Meet Anjali-my trusty steed and adventure partner, a Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 built for those who chase horizons, not just roads. With a smooth 1,215cc triple engine, she delivers power with poise, whether carving alpine passes or cruising desert tracks. Her long-travel suspension eats up rough terrain for breakfast, while the upright riding position keeps me comfy mile after mile. Packed with rider aids, rugged durability, and that unmistakable British growl, Anjali isn’t just a motorcycle-she’s the key to every wild story I’ve yet to tell.

Beside the specs, the bike is very sharp and efficient to drive, even on the highway or small mountain roads and even in remote forest tracks it does the trick !

I choosed the Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires because they are strong enough for long distance and safe enough to stick to the road even on heavy rain or in the snow – and they also tolerate a bit of dirt tracks

luggage

drybag:
SW-MOTECH  Drybag 350 tail bag ref: BC.WPB.00.001.10001
this dry bag is very useful and large enough to store all my camping gear;
i fix it on the rear seat with 4 nylon strips.
this bag is simple, strong and very cost effective.

Multimedia

action cam:
Say hello to my fearless co-pilot: the GoPro HERO9 Black-the tiny powerhouse that never flinches, no matter how wild the ride gets. Mounted proudly on Anjali’s handlebars (or my helmet, or my chest-okay, sometimes even on a stick mid-desert!), she captures every twist, turn, and triumph in stunning 5K video and crisp 20MP photos. With HyperSmooth 3.0 stabilization, even the bumpiest trail looks like a cinematic dream. The front-facing screen? Pure genius-finally, I can frame the perfect shot without guessing. And thanks to its rugged, waterproof design, rain, mud, or river crossings? All just part of the show. The GoPro HERO9 doesn’t just record my adventures-it lives them with me.

Insta 360

action cam:
my 360° storytelling wizard and the ultimate “set it and forget it” sidekick. While other cameras worry about angles, this clever little sphere captures everything around me-in every direction at once. Mounted on Anjali or tucked into my jacket, it records the full drama of the ride: the winding road ahead, the mountains behind, even the startled goats leaping out of the way (true story). With FlowState stabilization smoother than a freshly paved Alpine pass and AI-powered editing magic, it turns hours of raw footage into shareable epics in minutes. And the best part? If I miss the shot, no sweat-just reframe it later in post. The Insta360 doesn’t just film my adventures; it rewinds, rotates, and reimagines them.

drone
DJI Mavic Mini
this drone is just awesome ! it takes no place (weight 250gr) , it is very easy to fly even in the mountain with strong wind.
the air time is about 15-20min with one battery (it strongly varies depending of weather conditions)
I bought a second battery to get more autonomy.
the application to fly the drone is very efficient and simple to use and it comes with several cinematic shooting sequences that are just impressive.

bluetooth audio set
CARDO Freecom 2+
this audio kit has a lot of issue and I won’t recommend it.
I could not even update the firmware to try to fix those problems (ie using the voice commands)
But at least the battery keep up the whole day and can be recharged in no time; the audio quality is good enough.
you understand this bit will be replaced in the near future; but in the meantime I need my music while riding my adventures !

navigation
I am using the Carpuride 502w to project my navigation from my mobile phone.

The apps I am using depending the context are Google Maps, Waze and Osmand Pro

computer
Apple Mac Book M1 2020
this 13″ notebook is a weapon of choice ! it is powerful enough my on the road video editing and the battery last hours and hours.
I am also using the LaCie DJI Fly Drive (2 Tb) external hard drive with micro-sd card reader; this external harddisk is wrapped in a removable protective bumper ideal for on the field operations.
